New Town midfielder Conor Hourihane netted a debut goal for the Republic of Ireland U21s as his side thrashed Estonia 5-0 in Dublin. Former Blue Owen Garvan was also on target in his final match for the U21s.

Hourihane and Garvan both scored in the final minutes of the Irish victory. Despite the win, Ireland have not qualified for the European U21 Championships.

kerryblue added 11:41 - Aug 12 I agree with Bluelady on this one,Garvan has been playing for our under 21 side for donkeys years and my opinion is that there have been plenty of vacancies in the full Ireland midfield in recent years with caps being handed out willy nilly and if Garvan had gotton off his arse he could have plenty of full caps at this stage.
