New Town midfielder Conor Hourihane netted a debut goal for the Republic of Ireland U21s as his side thrashed Estonia 5-0 in Dublin. Former Blue Owen Garvan was also on target in his final match for the U21s.

Hourihane and Garvan both scored in the final minutes of the Irish victory. Despite the win, Ireland have not qualified for the European U21 Championships.

We are going to have a formidable young team and this guy is going to be apart of it.

Totally agree with the promise the young guns are showing, Hourihane looks to be a very, very, good purchase. The blackcats are still spitting feathers!

no you give it a rest eireannach_gorm i am simply stating that Garvan seems to have been in the under 21 side for ever. It was a bit of tongue in cheek humour and did not need an update on regulations which i know only to well thank you.

If you know the regulations whats the point your making?

I would have thought it was a fair achievement to represent your country from a young age ( started in U15s ) until now. Do you have the same amusement over Connor Wickham?

I agree with Bluelady on this one,Garvan has been playing for our under 21 side for donkeys years and my opinion is that there have been plenty of vacancies in the full Ireland midfield in recent years with caps being handed out willy nilly and if Garvan had gotton off his arse he could have plenty of full caps at this stage.
