Wednesday, 25th Aug 2010 11:01

Fans are being offered the chance to have their name included in a new book about the Blues’ 1980/81 campaign. 1980-81 The Greatest Season in Ipswich Town’s History, written by Mel Henderson, the Blues' public relations officer at the time, will be published in November.

Fans pre-ordering the book by 30th September will have their names listed in the book, which looks at the season in which Town won the UEFA Cup and just missed out on a treble in exceptional depth.

Legendary Town skipper Mick Mills has given his backing to the project: “1980-81 was an incredible season and I was proud to be part of such a great team. If you love Ipswich Town then you will love this book”.

1980-81 The Greatest Season in Ipswich Town’s History features interviews with all the players, Sir Bobby Robson and Bobby Ferguson, as well as Mills’s top ten matches and top ten goals from the season.

The first 1,981 copies of the book, a joint production between Ipswich-based marketing and design agency White Space Design and Archant Suffolk, are being produced with a commemorative Sir Bobby Robson sleeve.

Not much point giving a phone number to ring and place your order if there's just a recorded message at the other end - in the middle of the working day!

Hopeless.

Cheers,
