Reid: Fallon Fee Agreed
Reid: Fallon Fee Agreed
Friday, 26th Nov 2010 08:11

Plymouth boss Peter Reid says Town and Argyle have agreed a fee for striker Rory Fallon’s permanent move to the Blues if the New Zealand international impresses during his period on loan at Portman Road. The 28-year-old’s initial spell runs until January 22nd.

Reid says a deal is done if Fallon proves himself: "I think there is a fee agreed, but [Plymouth executive director] Keith Todd has been dealing with that.”

The former England international midfielder says that while Fallon was not a fans’ favourite at Home Park, he was playing with an injury earlier in the season: "Roy Keane got in touch with me asking about the boy with a view to a permanent transfer.

"Rory is out-of-contract in the summer and sometimes certain circumstances dictate what happens at a football club. This is one of those times.

"I know he's not everyone's cup of tea when it comes to the fans, but he was fighting through a hernia for us at the start of the season.

"This is a chance for him to have a fresh lease of life, and if he does well it's great for him, great for us and great for Ipswich."

Fallon underwent hernia surgery in September and was out for around a month but has still managed to make nine starts and seven sub appearances this season, scoring once.

Elsewhere, Manchester City youngster John Guidetti has joined Burnley on loan. The Blues were amongst a host of Championship clubs linked with the 18-year-old Swede.

Norwich boss Paul Lambert will watch Sunday’s derby from the stands after being handed a two-match touchline ban and £2,500 fine by the FA yesterday. The Scot had pleaded guilty to a charge of improper conduct relating to his language and behaviour towards match officials following Norwich's recent 3-3 draw with Reading.
