Scotland Again Linked With Swans Return
Scotland Again Linked With Swans Return
Tuesday, 8th Feb 2011 09:22

Town striker Jason Scotland is again being linked with a return to his former club Swansea. A report in Wales claims the Trinidad and Tobago international met with new Blues manager Paul Jewell yesterday to discuss the possibility of a loan move away from Portman Road.

Scotland, who was first mentioned in connection with a switch back to the Swans in late January, is yet to make a start under Jewell’s management and, according to the Welsh report, a source close to the player says he has held talks with the new Town boss about his situation: "He spoke to Paul yesterday and he told him he needs to go out on loan if he's not going to play him, and there's only one club he wants to go to – Swansea. There are other clubs chasing him, but he's not interested in them.

"It does depend on whether Ipswich can get another forward in, but Jason Scotland back at Swansea would work out for everyone concerned."

Aside from the Swans, three other Championship clubs are believed to be interested in the 32-year-old, who spent two highly successful years at the Liberty Stadium.

Prior to the transfer window closing, Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers said he could be interested in bringing Scotland back to Wales but at the time had not made an approach to the Blues, although this may well have changed.

Football League clubs are allowed to take players on 'emergency loans' from today.

The bottom line is that his fittness is an utter disgrace, the man is huge & there can be no excuse for that. I'm in my thirties, I eat fast food & consider myself a bit lazy.. But I'm still in better shape than him. I find it disrespectful to the club & us fans to be that overweight when it's your job to be fit. I ve stood next to the guy & he the fattest backside I've ever seen on a pro football (I just like to add I wasn't checking him out, u just couldn't miss it!).. That's not just muscle or body type, thats just lazy & bad diet.. Ship him out and get in a lean mean fox in the box !

I'm thinking that this "Scotland bashing" is getting a bit out of hand here people. He is still a Town player, he has done pretty well, with poor service, under difficult conditions and has managed to poach a reasonable number of goals. I bet Peter Crouch had to put up with lots of people telling him he was the wrong shape to play football too. Good grief, when did the size of a player's arse ever affect their ability to play?

dantown - I lived in Trinidad and Tobago [Port of Spain] for over 3 years. Oh yeah - he looks fat? Take my word for it, appearances deceive. Watch him when he's up close in the box and then see him move. A typical T & T man will not waste energy uneccessarily - but my word, when it is necessary they can really turn it on. If we do let him go then we must get someone in to replace him. But why bother to let him go? He scores goals remember?

now the team seems to be playing with more confidence, creating better chances id give scotland more of a run out, he might look unfit but i feel hed cause more problems in and around the box than priskin who for me is lazy at times , his hold up play is poor and wont jump for a ball rather try and bring it down but then lose it more often than not and hes not the most prolific of finishers
