Dyer Back Among Friends
Dyer Back Among Friends
Monday, 14th Mar 2011 14:33

Loan signing Kieron Dyer says he feels back amongst friends after rejoining the Blues after 12 years away from Town. Dyer, who is due to remain with the club where he started his career for a month, was paraded at a Portman Road press conference this lunchtime.

Dyer said: “I feel like I’m back among friends, I know most of the faces here, I know most of the faces at the club and at the training ground, and it was very easy to come back and fit straight back in.”

The 32-year-old was feeling the effects of Saturday’s game at Leeds having not started a match since mid-December but says he’ll get better as he plays more games: “I’m very stiff as I’d only been training a week prior to that. Mentally as well, it was quite draining how the move came about so quickly.

“I’ve got 70 minutes in the bank now and over the next three games I’ll start to get fitter and you’ll see the real me out there.”

That may mean the midfielder starts Tuesday’s game against Watford amongst the subs: “Me and the manager aren’t stupid. I’m coming in early tomorrow and I’ll see how I feel, but I’ll definitely feature whether I’ll be starting or coming off the bench. We’re not going to kill ourselves.

“With the lack of games I’ve played, it would be foolish of me to try and play three 90 minutes in one week. I’ll see how my body feels but surprisingly I don’t feel too bad.”

i totally agree that we should try and keep bullard and dyer and if possible to sing them both on free transfer but not get rid of leadbitter because im a season ticket holder and every game i see him play he's working his socks off the same with chuck and if ledbitter was to stay he could player in front of the midfield but behind the strikers as a feeding'holding player??

Would be great to see Kieran back, however, he or Mr Bullard wont take massive paycuts to become permenant signings. I think we should just enjoy them playing whilst they are here.

Forget dyer and sell leadbetter and norris and get young keen blood in who want to really play for the club and get a few good years out of them. Also bin edwards and murphy , priskin and scotland. None of them are good enough.

Can't understand PJ's rationale here - could see the benefit esp of signing KD on loan if we were chasing a play off place or fighting relegation but neither of these is the case.

Will make the run in possibly more entertaining for the fans but can't see the benefit to next seasons plans as we surely aren't going to sign both Bullard and Dyer. Maybe Bullard for dressing room effect but 2 injury prone aging midfielders is a huge gamble if not bordering on irresponsible!

I would preferred PJ to give others a chance to see what they are made of to see how they featured (or not) in 11/12 plans.

As for Mr Evans stating Leadbetter should move on for KD - have you not been watching the last few matches?!!

Anyway - in PJ we Trust!!! Good luck tomorrow!!!

Dyer's missus is about to give birth but wouldn't have thought that would be the only reason he's come on loan.
He's only here for a month to start with so lets just enjoy having him back at ITFC

Id even consider getting rid of macauley and delaney.Send oh dear back to celtic and start investing the money in some players with a bit of fire in the belly otherwise we end up a team of guttless wounders

Calmingwind and dirtydingusmagee :- I stand with you two on that! On Dyer and Bullard, enjoy it while it lasts and should it last longer, enjoy it longer!
