O'Dea: I'll Be Back at Celtic
O'Dea: I'll Be Back at Celtic
Wednesday, 23rd Mar 2011 13:18

Loan defender Darren O’Dea says he will be returning to Celtic in the summer having spent the season with the Blues. The 24-year-old has been in and out of the team throughout the camapign, rarely enjoying a long run in the side.

O’Dea told the Scottish press: “Celtic is my club, it is in my heart. I have let my head rule my heart for now, which is why I am on loan, but I will be going back to Celtic in the summer and doing my utmost to break into the team.”

The Dubliner, who has made 19 starts and two sub appearances for the Blues, is currently with the Republic of Ireland squad ahead of their Euro 2012 qualifiers against Macedonia on Saturday and Uruguay next Tuesday, both in Dublin.

On balance, that's fine. I'd rather we had kept David Wright, to be honest. He loved the club and always gave his best - and would have been a darn sight better in the Norwich match.

Not agile enough to play at left back and with McAuley/Delaney in the middle was never going to threaten the middle 2....won't be missed which says it all...i'm sure PJ will bring in much better.

Poor player in my opinion very slow, very indecisive more O'Dear than O'Dea.

Worst left back I've seen at Portman Road since Harding! Doubt he'd even start for Colchester or Southend. Certainly not good enough for us. Can't wait to see O'Connor bombing up the flanks next season. He's our answer there. Just need a decent right back. Bring back Gus!!

Right decision for us. Has been ok at times but very uncomfortable on the ball. Believe O'Conner would give us a better chance of progression and would like to see him given a chance in the first team.
