McLoughlin Extends Stockport Loan

Town keeper Ian McLoughlin has extended his loan spell with Stockport County until the end of the season. The 19-year-old has already been with the Hatters for a month and has made five appearances.

The Dubliner will miss this weekend’s home game against Southend as he is currently away with the Republic of Ireland U21s for Friday’s friendly in Portugal, along with Blues team-mates Shane O’Connor and Ronan Murray.

Elsewhere, former Blues loanee Jake Livermore has joined Leeds from Spurs for the remainder of the season.

McLoughlin is a very good keeper. Highly rated here in Ireland.
We seem to have good young keepers at the minute Ian and Cody Cropper.

Hope he does well, not good experience for the lad playing in front of such a leaky defence. He's having to pick the ball out of the net a few times in recent games

Its not a bad thing for a keeper to have a leaky defense, he gets to make more saves and show off his ability. Like Ben Foster at Birmingham City!
It will also help him to be mentally strong and he can see the mistakes (positional) poor defenders make
