Jewell Continuing Search for Signings Saturday, 30th Jul 2011 18:16 Town manager Paul Jewell says he’s still looking to add to his squad, despite having made seven signings this summer. A central defender remains his main target, having lost Gareth McAuley, Troy Brown and Tom Eastman at the end of the last campaign and having added only Ãvar Ingimarsson. Jewell, who dismissed links with Wolves defender Richard Stearman, said: “We’re still looking. There are a couple of key areas we need to address - we need another centre-half. I’m happy with the signings we’ve made, but like every manager it’s an ongoing thing. The Blues boss reiterated his desire to have players fighting for inclusion in his side: "We want competition for places all over the pitch and there are one or two areas where we are a bit short yet. "Ideally we want two players for every position and that's what I have been working on. I've been trying to get in another defender over the last five or six weeks and we thought we had a couple but it's not quite happened yet, so we're still looking."
