Clegg: All Bets Are Off Tuesday, 9th Aug 2011 09:21 Town chief executive Simon Clegg has confirmed that Ladbrokes will no longer be running the matchday betting stands around Portman Road or at any other Football League ground. TWTD understands that Clacton-based bookmakers Bobby Swift are set to take over at Town. Clegg said: “Ladbrokes are gone across the whole of the Football League because they felt they weren’t making enough money." He says a new arrangement should be in place soon: “We do have a replacement but that will not be up and running for Saturday, however, I am confident that over the next couple of games it will be. “I have to say Ladbrokes didn’t give us very much time to find a replacement and have been quite difficult about the handover.” Clegg wouldn't confirm the identity of the new company but it's our understanding that it will be Bobby Swift, who already run the betting concession at Colchester United.
