Town Announce Timetable for Family Football Festival
Tuesday, 1st Nov 2011 09:30

Town have announced the timetable of events for the Family Football Festival which is being held prior to Saturday’s home game against Doncaster Rovers. The event is being staged on Alderman Park starting at 1pm.

The Family Football Festival campaign was launched by the Football League at the start of the season to attract new families to matches and is touring grounds until December.

David Malkinson, head of marketing at the Football League, is keen to see more families at games: "Football is a sport that appeals to the whole family and League clubs have experienced bumper family attendances in recent seasons.

“League football is extremely accessible, offers good value for money and provides a place where families can enjoy each other's company as well as the action on the pitch. I encourage families to go along to their local game and enjoy some football together-time."

Siobhan Freeguard, who founded Netmums and who is a Family Football Festival ambassador, added: "Netmums are delighted to be involved with The Family Football Festival - it's an exciting opportunity for families across the country to enjoy a fun day out together at their local League club.

“It's a great chance for mums to get the family together and enjoy the atmosphere of a League match first hand this autumn."

LMFAO ... attract new families to matches ??? Perhaps the Family Festival campaign and the football league sholud look at the scandolus prices Football clubs and namely ITFC are charging . What planet is David Malkinson on ? " League football is extremely accessible , offers good value for money ? Has he seen our prices ? Even if you can scrape together the entrance fee the prices of food and drink is nothing short of criminal . Two bottles of drink and two packets of crisps for the children ... £6 ... disgusting . The only way to attract new families is to make it AFFORDABLE you clowns

If ITFC want big crowds, they need multiple cheap ticket offers which run over several years which target the youth, to build up a new fan base. Norwich's crowds were poor like our own, until they ran such schemes, Kids for a quid and so on. Unfortunately ITFC is run by the most inflexible goons in its history. Any other private sector company would study their competitors' success (Norwich ticket strategy) and implement a similar model, not ITFC.
