Sonko Out of Doncaster Clash
Sonko Out of Doncaster Clash
Tuesday, 1st Nov 2011 10:32

Defender Ibrahima Sonko has been ruled out of Saturday’s home game against Doncaster Rovers with the hamstring injury which forced him off during the weekend defeat at Millwall. The Blues also have doubts over Lee Bowyer (hamstring), Damien Delaney (foot), Keith Andrews (groin) and Nathan Ellington (calf).

Boss Paul Jewell confirmed that the Senegalese international is definitely out of the Rovers clash: "Sonko won't be fit for the weekend.

"He has got a grade two hamstring tear and he's been for a scan. Lee Bowyer is also having a scan, while Keith Andrews has got a tight groin, so we are carrying a few injuries.

"Nathan Ellington pulled his calf in the half-time warm-up at Millwall as well. There was no way Duke could have gone on as a sub on Saturday."

Apart from Delaney all the injuries are strains and all the injured are oldies. Does that tell you something.

To be honest and guess like many other parents it must be soul destroying to lose a child. We have to be respectful to the family. I ask all family to support Mr Sharp on saturday. I pray to god that this never happens to myself or any other parent

To many old players picking up strains, and other injuries. This will continue through out the season?.Needs some young blood in the side to give the older players time out to recover. What happens if stockdale gets injured or recalled. Cropper is a young but very good keeper but not getting much playing time? Why not? Carson is another good player who should be involved,Martin is another who is almost there.Time to try some of our young players,We have some very good players waiting to be given their chance.Let some of the older players have some time out,or see them fall apart. Can't see how our makeshift defence will be able to handle Sharp and Diouf. We are going to have to somehow outscore them.
The older players are now showing signs of serious tiredness in all areas (including injuries). Don't know how we are going to keep up with the pace and power of the trendsetters in this division.
Can see us taking a big beating against Doncaster

guentchev Spot ON.. your comments are very true paul Jewel will need to get in other players ? or start using the young players of note that we have ie Carson,Cropper, Lavery if he is still with us These cant be that far behind some of the players from some other Clubs in our division in some cases they are better. Give the older players time out to refresh and fight again, use what we have and do not put all our eggs in one basket,to be broken? COYB
