Richard Wright impressed on his Arsenal home debut by saving a first half penalty from Nicolas Basinas. The Londoners beat Panathinaikos 2-1 in the Champions' League.

The penalty followed a foul from Ipswich lad Matthew Upson on Emanuel Olisabede. Wright conceded his first goal in an Arsenal shirt in the second half when Olasidebe had a shot deflected off Sol Campbell and in.

Wright had previously made two appearances for the Gunners in the away games at Derby and Southampton, both of which ended 2-0.
