Wright: We Must Cut Out Errors
Wright: We Must Cut Out Errors
Saturday, 26th Nov 2011 20:31

Returning keeper Richard Wright said Town need to cut out the mistakes and be more consistent throughout games after his third Blues debut ended in a 3-2 defeat to Reading.

Wright said: “We work together all week and the manager puts his ideas across and we need to start taking them on to the pitch and utilising them.

"It wasn't the best of games but at certain times I thought we did well and defended staunchly, but it has to be for the whole 90 minutes and not just in patches.

"We need to cut out the little errors, but the good thing is we have a game on Tuesday where we can hopefully put things right."

The 34-year-old could make his second appearance of this third spell at Portman Road at Burnley on Tuesday with David Stockdale a doubt with the shoulder problem he suffered in training earlier in the week.

We have been making basic defensive errors for the past 10 years since Tony Mowbray retired, the only half decent centre back we have had was Jason DeVos.
With the money ME has put in the club we are a mess as a club from top to bottom, as i see it ME has got to show his face to supporters or replace Clegg with a football man who the fans can relate to, we have gone from a family run club to a corperate face for ME.
The only time i have enjoyed games at Portman road in 10 years was when Joe Royle was manager, we had no money but the players were always organised and gave 100%.
I would love to see Paul Jewell turn things around but until a clear direction comes from the top it will not happen.

Thanks for putting me right Garv about footballers & interviews, not that my anger was aimed at Richard Wright or this interview, but thanks. You see before you a better man.

Again this is pointing out the obvious, of course we must cut out basic errors, hey it has only been like this for how long?!! What do they do in training, play against themselves of course, this is why we are where we are.
I can't believe that one day I was reading there will be no contract offer for Wright and within a few days he was offered and had signed a contract only to start on the Saturday, no you can call me a conspriacy theorist but I reckon Fulham are concerned at the situation and Stockdale will be returning there shortly, probably due to injury or need?!!

I agree with Cornard Blue...Joe Royle is the best manager we have had since Burley. Appalling the way he was treated.

Having said that, I think Jewell can still do a job but do agree we need to give some of the younger players a go, and sign players hungry from lower leagues to compliment the experience we have in Bullard etc...

We definitely won't get anywhere by getting rid of Jewell. Who else, realistically are we going to get in? O'Neill wouldn't come anywhere near us, neither would Curbs...

Just keep supporting your team, your players, your manager and we will get there but guess what, like most things in life it will take hard work, patience and time.

Massive backwards step bringing Wright back to the club. Terrible decision from a terrible manager - who has now delivered an impressive FIVE straight defeats. We are are worse off under PJ than we were under Jim/Roy ... sorry folks but the statistics don't lie. PJ will ruin us. Just as he ruined Derby. The decision to re-sign Wright shows PJ up for what he is ... an inept manager with absolutely no idea. Tough to argue otherwise I am afraid.

I'm sorry.... I'm sure there are 95 comments backing the decision to re-sign wright less than a week ago. Short memories some of you.

As for Burley, his win rate was 45% at Ipswich, compared to Jewell's 43% (maybe excluding yesterday), Keane's 34% and Jim's 37% and Sir Bobby's 44% and Joe Royle's 42% and John Duncan's 45% and John Lyall's 33%.

Make what you will of that, I think it says a bit about these statistics you're pulling out at us every week, jas.

Jas can you support why this is such a terrible decision, why is wright such an awful BACK UP to Stockdale a good keeper on a low wage, to me its a no brainer. Now im as p off as the rest at the results, I think jewell needs to sort things out like now but I won't slag off absolutely everything he does for the sake of it, please take a leaf out of h32 book who may not like jewell but offers a balanced view and supports his oppinion, I'm afraid you come accross as a deranged Keane worshiper which I'm sure is not your intention! Just been a little more constructive and less desperate in your posts and you will get far more respect, doesnt mean you have to back jewell or like him.
