Stevenson Looking Forward to Getting Started
Stevenson Looking Forward to Getting Started

New Town signing Ryan Stevenson says he can’t wait to get his Town career started after agreeing to join the Blues from Hearts today. The 27-year-old is set to train with his new team-mates for the first time on Sunday.

Stevenson told the club site: "I had a few other teams interested but when a club of the stature of Ipswich comes in for you, you take it.

"It's a massive opportunity for me, too big to turn down and I can't wait to get going. I'm looking forward to training with the lads tomorrow and I want to hit the ground running, impress the manager and force my way into the side.

"Playing in England has always been a big ambition of mine and to have a chance of playing for such a big club and alongside so many top players is fantastic."

Welcome on board - good words, but I am afraid ITFC is no longer a big club - so does beg the question - who else was actually after him?

Hopefully you won't get an opportunity to play for the current manager for too many more games. PJ OUT.

Spoke with a mate of mine who is a Jambo's season ticket holder and this is what he had to say about Ryan Stevenson and i quote "Aye,half decent,Rick.Don't think we knew where to play him.Played up front but i don't think it suited him.Midfielder, through the middle...hope he does well, left us in a bit of a huff.Seems a decent bloke."

Could be a good player if PJ plays him in the right position

Priskin was never in the right place at the right time and when he was he still didn't score! Thus guy looks more of a Keith Andrews - not afraid to run at the defence and score from midfield and get in the box for the loose ball. If he scores as many as KA then we'll all be happy. An important piece if the jigsaw potentially in place - now for the defence!

We are getting a good team together even if we are relegation fodder. Let's build a defence that makes it easier for the creative midfield/attack to perform. As they surely will.
SO A couple of tough central defenders must be worth a couple of million...as for the rest, let's not get desperate for Pompey Dimes. Give a vote of confidence in the lads. Go with it now.
