Academy midfielder Jonny Leddy is likely to win his seventh Republic of Ireland U17 cap this afternoon when his side face hosts Holland in their second European Championship elite stage qualifying group game in Schijndel.

The Dutch are the current European champions and beat Albania 4-0 in their opening group game.

Leddy, a 17-year-old first-year scholar, missed a late penalty in Ireland’s 1-0 defeat to Serbia in their first match on Thursday.

The Irish youngsters complete their group games with a match against the Albanians in Venray on Tuesday. The winners of the group go through to the finals in Slovenia which will be played in May.
