QPR Eyeing JET as Blues Again Linked With Green
QPR Eyeing JET as Blues Again Linked With Green
Tuesday, 24th Apr 2012 00:53

QPR have joined Fulham in eyeing Blues midfielder Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, according to a tabloid report. Meanwhile, Derby’s Paul Green, who TWTD revealed was a potential Town target in January, is reportedly set to join the Blues this summer having turned down a contract at Pride Park.

Cottagers’ scouts have been regular visitors to Portman Road in recent months with former Arsenal youngster Emmanuel-Thomas the reason for their trips. Relegation-threatened QPR are now said to have joined them.

Irish international Green, 29, was brought to Derby from Doncaster by Paul Jewell during his time in charge of the Rams.

In January, the Blues boss confirmed that he had spoken to the Pontefract-born midfielder or right-back’s agent. Green has also been linked with Leeds United.

I'm pretty sure JET will come good next season but if QPR or Fulham offered serious money then I would accept it from what I have seen from him this season!!!

If we sell JET and bring in Green then PJ is even worse than even I thought!

However, every player has his price - but must be replaced with another youngster, not a below average players who will soon be 30. Granted, that's the right age for PJ.

I can't see anyone paying what it would take to for us to release JET at this stage. Maybe in a couple of years when he has proved himself the big boys will come calling, but for me he's still finding his feet at this level.

I would'nt even accept a silly bid of 5 or 6 million for JET. If you sell one of your up and coming stars what direction are the club going if you do. Hopefully he will stay I would be so Peed off it ITFC let him go.

JET is inconsistent, at time's he's unplayable but if we make enough of a profit on him the TEAM could be better off with someone who's consistent playing there. I still think Carson plays the wing well, we need to take not of how vertically challenged we are as a squad though, not that JET is much use in the air tbh.
Facts are we loose loads of money each year and need a good 6+ players in the summer to even look like we could challenge for playoffs. You don't get them for free, even out of contract players get signing on fees etc. Yes Evans has money, but he didn't get minted by wasting good money after bad did he.
I would be very reluctant to give Paul Jewell access to my credit card thats for sure.

Green though, Why? he's average at best. Had enough of Jewell old boys. He's never done anything in his career and he's past his peak. Ward is viable but I still think we are looking in the wrong places for players.

However if JET does leave, it opens the door for Carson to come in to the team.

Dont get the Article confused, it does not say Green is a replacement for JET!
These are two seperate stories.

JET has to be worth more than 3million, more like 6million. What donkey writes these reports anyway.

Selling JET or Cresswell would be a huge knock to the process of building a team, but we have to face facts that every player has a price. I certainly wouldnt sell either of them unless we got a silly offer.
As for Green, cant say i know much about him, but Derby fans seem to rate him.

Dozzell, much to the contrary, I was under the impression that Derby fans didn't rate him all that highly. I stand to be corrected if I'm wrong but that was my impression since I heard of our interest in him.

Green is just an older version of Leadbitter! Would be worse than Carlos at right back. Journeyman midfielder if that is what you want.

buryblue- not conclusive evidence so you could be right, but i just googled him earlier and got a Derby forum from Jan when he was linked to us and they all seemed to rate him and were saying they (Derby) should make him a better offer to stay.
