Greek and Swedish Targets for Town?
Greek and Swedish Targets for Town?

Sources in Greece say Town watched Greek international striker Angelos Charisteas at the weekend as his side, Town's former UEFA Cup foes, Aris Salonica won 4-2 against Ethnikos Asteras.

Charisteas was the scorer of Greece's first goal in the recent match against England at Old Trafford.

The reports say that Town scout Simon Hunt watched the striker on Sunday and even quote him as saying: "We have to see him play two or three times more before we make a final decision."

Town are expected to be asked for £3.25 million for Charisteas, however Aris fans are not pleased that their club is seeking to sell their star striker. Apparently they are cash-strapped and see Charisteas as an asset they can cash in on. Arsenal have also been linked in recent times.

Charisteas picked up a knee injury on Sunday and will be out for three weeks, so a Town move, if any, wouldn't be for a few weeks.

Meanwhile sources in Sweden suggest that Town might be about to make a move for Helsingborg left-back Christoffer Andersson.

Andersson was the player who went off injured after clashing with Hermann Hreidarsson in the first leg at Portman Road. Town and Everton are both being linked.

He is 23 and is a regular for the Swedish national side, playing recently when the Swedes played Azerbaijan, a game George Burley attended.
