Tuesday, 15th May 2012 13:45

Town striker Ronan Murray is on standby for the Republic of Ireland U21 squad playing a friendly with Denmark in Dublin on Monday 28th May and a Euro 2013 qualifier against Italy in Sligo on Monday 4th June.

The 20-year-old, who spent much of 2011/12 on loan with League Two champions Swindon, has previously won one U21 cap.

In January, Mayo-born Murray signed a new one-year deal with the Blues.

I really like Murray as a footballer. he has a bit of spark and pace about him.
I think his time at Swindon shows he can provide an impact for us next season from the bench.

Best of luck Ronan & hope you get a call up for international duty!

Is he going to be sold or signing a new contract? As his deal is up in January. I wouldnt trust the negotiations to anybody but PJ as the CEO has shown himself to be way out of his depth. We now have this crazy situation where all the other clubs are going for broke to get out of this divison and what do ITFC do they start FFP rules 2 seasons early. Another 10 years in this divison ,I hope i am proved wrong. Cant see the club signing any of their supposed targets as they are all off to play for higher paying clubs.

Couldn't agree more Matt but some people jus love to have a moan about anything n everything! I sit wiv my Dad every home game he loves a moan about every player until he scores n even then would say 'well he ain't done nothing else' But he absolutely loves Ipswich n travelled all round the country to watch them play
