Jewell Delighted With Taylor Signing Friday, 31st Aug 2012 11:38
Blues boss Paul Jewell says Paul Taylor is an exciting signing for Town, the 24-year-old having signed a three-year deal yesterday. The Blues and Peterborough agreed a fee understood to be an initial £1.5 million rising to £2.5 million after milestone clauses earlier in the week.
Jewell told the club site: “Paul has been in our sights for a while and I’m delighted to have him here.
“He’s an exciting signing for us. He can play up front or wide. He’s got pace, an eye for goal. He’s not the biggest player around but he’s got a bit of bite about him. Most importantly he’s got a hunger to succeed.
“He caused us problem when we played Peterborough last season and I’m confident he will go on to be a very good signing for the club.”

Looks a very good little player for 1.5 million, looks like he loves to take people on and that's something we've been lacking for a while now. Also he has real pace by the looks of things which is always a bonus. I'm still hoping for Boyd though, his technique and range of passing would really add creativity to our midfield.
Just a thought following the Davies comments. It seems that Jewell has his targets and Taylorvwas one of them, and he knew how much he would have to spend from ME, so doing the maths and what have you, he obviously wanted Taylor more and wouldn't up the bid for Davies as it would eat into his budget.
God damn, PJ, SC and ME are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't.
@AndyUK61873 'for those making comments on Davies, we did agree a fee, he did not want to come to us, and had made it clear he had no intention of signing for us. '
What utter clap trap. How do you know that for a fact??! Town spent all summer dithering over the fee with Derby (that is well documented) thats why we didn't end up getting him - no point in having a fee accepted whilst he sitting in the manager's office at BC about to put pen to paper. reading between the line, it appears the lad waited most of the summer for us to buy him.
just watched tom090's post.seems like we are getting a wealth of attacking midfieders and with n'daw taking care of the dirty work in the middle could see the start of a more intimdating ipwsich side. i just hope chopra doesnt keep getting the headless chicken roll up front ,not fast enough for that!
