Thorsteinsson With Icelandic Squad
Thorsteinsson With Icelandic Squad
Thursday, 6th Sep 2012 09:16

Academy second-year scholar Gunnar Thorsteinsson is currently away with the Iceland U19 squad for two home friendlies against Estonia.

Central midfielder or centre-half Thorsteinsson will be hoping to add to his three caps at U19 level when the young Icelanders face the Estonians on Friday and again on Sunday.

Thorsteinsson, 18, was last season's Academy Player of the Year but is yet to be involved in a first team squad for a competitive game.

Seems like a quality player in the Herman H mould perhaps?

I'd say give him a game... Hewitt is only 18 and supposed to be a first teamer, at least get him on the bench maybe?

Doesn't seem logical, put him on the bench in place of a centre half... oh wait, i mean where a centre half would be.

I've seen him play, seems a reasonable player. Certainly wouldn't have considered him as a first team pick yet though.

Different players progress at different rates. He could definitely use an extra yard of pace though. He's played in midfield both times i've seen him.
