Three Changes at Barnsley
Saturday, 29th Sep 2012 14:09

Town boss Paul Jewell has made three changes to his side for this afternoon’s game at Barnsley. Danny Higginbotham comes in for his first start with Luke Hyam, who hasn’t started since the 6-0 loss at Blackpool, and Guirane N’Daw both in the line-up.

Tommy Smith, Massimo Luongo and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas all drop to the bench. Full preview here.

Barnsley are unchanged from the team which beat Birmingham City 5-0 at St Andrew's last week with one-time Town loanee Marlon Harewood on the bench.

Town: Loach, Edwards, Chambers, Higginbotham, Cresswell, N'Daw, Hyam, Drury, Martin, Murphy, Scotland. Subs: Lee-Barrett, Ainsley, Smith, Emmanuel-Thomas, Luongo, Ellington, Murray.

Barnsley: Alnwick, Kennedy, Foster, Wiseman, Golbourne, Crainie, Cywka, Dawson, Mellis, Davis, Dagnall. Subs: Steele, Perkins, Etuhu, Harewood, Done, Stones, Rose.

Looks like a team going for a tight game, PJ team talk" lump it forward and let Martin,Scotland and Murphy get on with it"

Not a bad idea with the record we have, let's hope we don't give away a soft early goal (or two)

Pleased we look more competitive in middle, but would question ommission of Carson from bench?

Contentious maybe but do not like the look of that team, Luongo far better than hyam and Drury, looks like he is purely going to hold in midfield and hope for Martin / Murphy and Scotland to produce something, can understand that but nothing and nobody creative in the middle. Would of preffered Martin playing up front of a diamond with Carson or Jet in his place and Drury or Hyam dropped.
That said i hope we win to relieve some pressure.

You can't even put a positive comment on here without somebody disliking it the season we are having and Barnsley winning 5.0 last week a draw will be a good point.

Like the line up, I think its clear Jewell wants players who will roll their sleeves up and give everything for the cause, the team doesn't look hugely creative but has a good solidity and balance about it, lets get three points today

Also not a PJ fan but will say before kick off that I like the team he has put out. JET is out of form and Hyam in for Luongo as well as dropping Smith for Higginbotham. Please don't park the bus. COYB

Three changes at Barnsley and still no win, Carson not even on the bench!!!!! so much for giving the youth a chance, typical Jewell does not know a team still working with experience, experience, experience, well look where it has got us today, absolutely nowhere, someone has to be responsible for the consistency of putting a team together to get us out of this mess and its definately not Jewell imo.

We should not be holding on for dear life to scrape a draw at Barnsley! Very, very worried. Change is needed.

we made Barnsley look brilliant.. can see how they did Birmingham 5 nil, and they will climb the table.. worried about our chances of avoiding relegation..
