23-year-old Marcus Bent is 6' tall, weighs 12st and is from London. He started his career at Brentford in 1995 where he made 76 appearances (+15 as sub) and scored 13 goals. He moved on to Crystal Palace for £300,000 in January 1998.

At Palace he played 13 games (+18 as sub) and scored five goals. In January 1999 he moved on to Port Vale for £375,000 where he scored just one goal in 19 games (+6 as sub). However he was only at Vale Park for nine months before going to Sheffield United for £300,000.

It was at Bramall Lane that Bent really started to make his name. He scored 24 goals in 56 games. That promoted Blackburn to come in for him in November 2000. They brought him to Ewood Park for £2.1 million. At Blackburn he scored 11 goals in 27 starts (+17 as sub). Currently he is out of favour at Ewood Park.
