McCarthy and Clegg at AGM Tonight
Tuesday, 11th Dec 2012 09:05

Manager Mick McCarthy and chief executive Simon Clegg will answer shareholders’ questions at this year’s PLC AGM this evening in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite in the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand (7.30pm). The meeting is open only to shareholders or their proxies.

The PLC owns 12.5% of Town and consists of the club's shareholding prior to Marcus Evans's takeover five years ago.

The meeting will vote on the re-elections of John Kerr and Simon Clegg and the election of Supporters Club chair Elizabeth Edwards as directors of the PLC.

Details of the club accounts for the year ending June 2012 are expected to be announced and discussed at the meeting.

i do find it quite interesting that SC hasnt really had to do anything with the press since the appointment of MM. Think this is the first time ive seen him really mentioned since the appointment.......

Phil, do you think this is a conciencious decision, or just one of those things?

Simon C doesn't really do a lot of press stuff, so don't think there's been any conscious move lately.

Does Rosseden suspect a Clegg-gate?

The AGM should be about how the club is managed over all and from where I sit it aint good, whatever happens on the field will only be temporary whilst every other aspect of the club seems to be going to the dogs: club deep in debt, no comms strategy, no commercial strategy (the new club shop in town is worse than a charity shop), ignoring the express wishes of the fans re the academy, lack of negotiating nounce re player contracts, no marketing strategy for season tickets and match day pricing and worst of all if you are a vegetarian having to order a pie two weeks in advance with money up front! They cannot even attract a bookmaker into the ground!

The problem is that Shareholders will sit on the fence as they normally do. Questions need to be asked why was the Club allowed to get into the state it is now, put the recent results to one side. What actually does Simon Clegg do and should he be voted onto the Board of the Plc, my answer is no but as long as he is a YES man to Marcus Evans he will stay.

I posted on here when AGM announced that those of us who have a vote should vote no against Clegg. As Carlisleaway says it won't remove him but would send a message to Marcus Evans that Clegg needs to improve his performance - most CEO's in my industry would have been long gone on his track record over the few years! Would be interested to know the 'No' count as couldn't be there tonight..
