As Town wait on the return of a number of first team players, Saturday's 2-0 loss at home to Arsenal has added to George Burley's problems. Chris Makin and Richard Naylor both came off injured and are doubts for Thursday's game with Inter Milan.

George Burley said: "Richard Naylor is struggling with a foot injury and Chris Makin took a knock behind his knee."

Of the penalty which won the game for Arsenal the Town manager was not convinced: "It was one of those decisions which can go for or against you. The player certainly wouldn't have reached the ball, and whether the players ran into each other is debatable, but the referee decided otherwise. Last week we had a blatant penalty turned down at Middlesbrough and today it was a 50-50 decision which went against us, but that is the way things are going for us so far."

Even Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger appeared to think it a harsh decision: "Sometimes they are given, sometimes not. I couldn't see if it was a block or not."

The previous penalty incident at the other end also involving Freddie Ljundberg when he stopped Hremann Hreidarsson's header on the line certainly looked like a penalty when viewed on TV. Town skipper Matt Holland felt that Hreidarsson's header being cleared from the line was typical of Town's recent fortune: "If Hermann Hreidarsson's header had gone in instead of being cleared off the line it might have been a different story but that's the way it is going for us."
