Henderson Not Thinking About Future Tuesday, 5th Mar 2013 06:02 On-loan keeper Stephen Henderson’s future beyond the end of the current campaign is a subject he would rather not discuss for the time being. He’s not being evasive, just focusing firmly on Town’s quest to preserve their Championship status before considering his own position Henderson will clock up his 22nd Ipswich appearance in two spells on loan from West Ham when he faces Nottingham Forest at the City Ground tonight. He said: “There is nothing to report on my future. There are a few lads whose contracts are up at the end of the season so the last thing the manager needs to be worrying about is what I’m going to be doing. “The main priority is to stay up and I’ll worry about the rest of it then. I’m open to suggestions so let’s see what happens.” Henderson has previously indicated he would be interested in what could be on offer at Portman Road but with the Hammers relying on Finnish veteran Jussi Jaaskelainen, who will be 38 next month, the Irishman is also eyeing a possible opportunity to establish himself at Upton Park, where he is contracted until the summer of 2015. He added: “I like to think I’m quite ambitious. I want to play at the highest level possible and there’s no question that West Ham are a fantastic club. “But I can see exciting times ahead here as well. I’ve said it before but this club is brilliant — facilities, fanbase, everything. The manager has made his mark and next season I can see Ipswich pushing for automatic promotion, without a doubt.”
