Carson Joins York Thursday, 14th Mar 2013 09:36 Midfielder Josh Carson has joined League Two York City on a month's loan. The 19-year-old hasn't featured for the Town first team since Mick McCarthy took over as boss. The Minstermen are now managed by former Norwich boss Nigel Worthington, who handed Carson his full international debut during his time as Northern Ireland boss. Carson, who is contracted until the summer of 2014 with an option for a further year, has made 18 starts and 15 sub appearances for the Blues, scoring five goals. McCarthy has been keen to send Carson out on loan for a while and the academy graduate spent time on trial at Northampton earlier in the year. Speaking in January, the Blues boss said: “I think he needs to go and play some football. He’s just a young lad learning his trade and travelling with us and training with us is not good enough for him, he needs to play.”
