Director Leaves Town Boards
Thursday, 14th Mar 2013 11:22

Director Martin Pitcher left the boards of both the club and the PLC earlier this week.

Pitcher has moved on from his role with Town owner Marcus Evans’s group of companies after eight years.

A chartered accountant previously with Price Waterhouse, Pitcher joined both Blues boards after the Evans takeover of the club in December 2007.

First Clegg, now Pitcher. It's a boardroom bloodbath I tells ya!

Best of luck Martin, Im sure it has been a tough few years for him after the mess left by administration. Also with the Financial Fair Play rules kicking in and setting the club up to comply with that is a big task.

From our perspective as supporters it is a little worrying that no details of ITFC performance given to shareholders at AGM last Autumn.Poor results for Marcus Evans Ltd published earlier this year, departure of Mr Clegg and now Martin Pitcher.
This coupled with negligible spending on players recently makes me a little worried about the future of ITFC especially if we are relegated.

A bit more worrying might be that the club has still not published last years accounts - almost 4 months later than usual, with only a couple of weeks left before they have to be released.

Something odd seems to be emerging, more so given the recent re-surfacing of the stuff about buying the ground from the council.

Surprised, probably not. Saddened most definitely.

Here we are a few points off a relegation place with a squad policy that is totally dependant on loanees, with virtually no youngsters coming through. If they can't break through now, when will they ?

The deabt is no so high that it is beyond paying back were we to magically find ourselves in the PL. You couln't repay the sums needed and remain competitive.

Instead of apppointing a decent, ambitious and hard drive CEO we merely pass the job to two other board members, who now have the added burden of covering for the departed Pitcher.

And what do we hear in terms of the future ? Marcus Evans still wants to get hold of the ground. Lord help us if we are reelgated as without a massive change the best we could hope for would be to stay in that league for a decade, as we have here,

worrying times.
I am concerned marcus evans will try and sell the club in the next few years.
Appionting joint directors and getting rid of clegg could be seen as an invitation for offers if what im told by people in business is correct.
WE could get a great new owner or we could get some faceless consortium and end up in a real mess. I would rather see evans stay and develop the club on a stable financial footing

As of the time of the AGM they were with the auditors, according to Simon Clegg.

What's usually provided to PLC shareholders aren't actually the finished accounts in any case but a draft version. The accounts tend to be filed towards the end of March, close to the deadline, as I think is common practice. So, we should see them in the next couple of weeks.

Not sure there's any significance in Martin Pitcher leaving the board. He's left his job with the Marcus Evans Group and his positions with Town as a result of that.

Re ME wanting to buy the ground, as mentioned above. The suggestion's not actually been revived by ME or anyone at the club, but by MP Ben Gummer. It's highly unlikely that IBC would sell it anyway, particularly given that the two parties were evidently a long way apart in their valuation when the matter was discussed a couple of years ago.
