Friday, 3rd May 2013 20:47

The Town squad have confirmed that academy second-year scholar Jack Marriott is part of the travelling party ahead of Saturday's final game of the season at Burnley.

Central defender Tommy Smith tweeted: "Babysitting the goal machine that is @jackmarriott94 tonight! #gettheteasin"

Marriott himself revealed that he has had to demonstrate his singing prowess: "Just had to sing in front of the first team and coaching staff #robbiewilliams #angels"

Right-back Elliott Hewitt added a photo of the 18-year-old striker entertaining his team-mates:

I would be tempted to start him, he seems to score in pretty much every game he plays in. I know it's a completely different level, but we aren't going to get another no pressure game like this for a long while. Would be interesting to see how he does at this level.

What a difference in atmosphere compared to previous regimes. Great to see a youthful core to our squad. Enjoy Jack Hopefully you get a decent amount of time on the pitch. Also hope you knock a few in for us. Best of luck & health to all town supporters during the close season. Lets hope our turn for promotion is near.
