Norwich Release Camp
Monday, 20th May 2013 20:08

Norwich City have confirmed that keeper Lee Camp will not be offered a new contract at Carrow Road. The 28-year-old Northern Ireland international was targeted by the Blues before he joined the Canaries on a short-term deal in January and has already been linked with Town this summer.

Blues boss Mick McCarthy is certain to be after one, probably two, keepers during the close season with Arran Lee-Barrett and Jason Brown having been released.

Scott Loach is currently the only senior keeper at the club, while Michael Crowe, who was recently included in a Wales U19 squad, will be one of three keepers full-time at the academy next year alongside first years Jacob Marsden and Sam McDermid.

Also amongst 10 players released by Norwich is striker Simeon Jackson, who had a trial with the Blues' academy when a schoolboy.

Not against this. To all the haters he chose to sign for a premier league team probably on better money. I would do the same.

Its not like he did an Ian Crook (if you are too young ask your dad)!!!

you could also say that he chose to sit on the bench rather than play 1st team football? hes a good keeper and im sure he would play well here, but hes now scum and will remain as such. we have already had a keeper off of them, i dont think we should do it again!

I cant say he would be my first choice but if MM rates him thats good enough for me.

Having said that I think the Norwich connection means any mistake made by Camp would be magnified by sections of our support. Not sure that would help him or the team.

I seem to recall that Chambers and Camp are not best mates. Anyone know any different?

I'd be o.k with him signing for us.... Norwich's loss is our gain. No problem :)

If he ain't good enough for a struggling prem side then he surely can't be good enough for a.promotion chasing championship side

He could be Gordon Banks but I wouldn't want someone who would rather have been a Norwich bench warmer.

Yes I'm petty.

Camp went the same way as many players, well before his Norwich move. He doesn't show the drive, commitment, concentration as he once did. It takes a certain type of person to deal with a stagnating career in a positive way. I'd much rather be after a Simon Moore type goalkeeper than a Camp.
Simeon Jackson would be worth a look, he has something to prove. Having plenty of pace would give us another option also.

Someone tell MM to look at Gary Woods just been Released by Doncaster, he was First choice all season made 42 app. For some reason Doncaster have chosen to release this guy and retain 42 year old neil Sullivan. Madness, he was also at Man Utd as a youth and had spells at Arsenal all at the age of only 22. Someone get MM to have a look!!!

NO NO NO NO NO!!! I unfortunately work with several scum supporters and over the last four years have had to put up with so much, having them w*"nkers calling us the poor relative taking their casts offs would be just too much. Oh and once again ......NO!

Don't understand the mentality of some fans. He would be a good back up to Loach and it's not as if he was a regular in Norwich's first team. If he had played and was decent I would understand i.e. Alan Lee.

No. It's Andy Marshall all over again. Decent keeper but not as good as Henderson, and no better than Loach. Has not exactly endeared himself to Town fans over the years with his ridiculous time-wasting antics, and has proven himself to be an utter git everywhere else. Please God no, it'll be a disaster.

Don't believe in signing players from your local rivals. Especially when we not even that good. No thanks Camp looks elsewhere pal

Get the message if MM thinks he wants Mr Camp as No1 he has my full support, most the clowns or childen above think they know more than the manager I think not.

Any decent suggestions for an out of contract keeper, thats a keeper better than Camp, who we might be able to sign! remember OUT OF CONTRACT is the key, the more decent championship players we can sign for free will free up whats left of the budget for the expected new signings.

Whether we sign him or not, I'm not sure I'd buy a replica goalie shirt with the word Camp on the back.

Forget Lee Camp. He hasn't really impressed me when I have seen him play against us? Someone mentioned Bobby Olejnik... Good call!! Now, I would have Simeon Jackson! I reckon he could do a job at this level for us. ..
