Town to Face Kiwomya's Notts County in Pre-Season
Saturday, 22nd Jun 2013 20:30

TWTD understands that Town are close to confirming a pre-season friendly against Chris Kiwomya’s Notts County at Meadow Lane on Saturday 27th July.

The proposed friendly at Norwich City had been pencilled in for that weekend, the last before the 2013/14 Football League season proper gets underway, prior to being abandoned earlier this month.

Town were last at Meadow Lane in September 2003 for a Carling Cup tie which the home side won 2-1.

Former Blues striker and coach Kiwomya was handed a three-year deal as boss of the Magpies in March having taken over after Keith Curle’s departure.

A list of Town’s other pre-season friendlies can be found here.

Right on jabberjackson Town ledge I can still remember Chris coming over to me a 12 year old lad on the final game of the season, against Brighton if memory serves me after scoring a hat-trick and hugging me like I was his brother, fond memories as we were promoted to the Prenier League that year, oh how I wish those days could return!

So glad we could now be playing this NCFC instead of that NCFC.

Remember that 2003 game well. The most outrageous penalty decision ever.
