McCarthy: No Palace Interest in Cresswell
Friday, 23rd Aug 2013 16:06

Boss Mick McCarthy says the Blues have received no interest from Crystal Palace regarding left-back Aaron Cresswell. Town were reported to have rebuffed a move for the 23-year-old prior to the Eagles adding Frenchman Florian Marange to their squad.

McCarthy says he’s heard nothing and that even before the signing of Marange, the recently promoted Premier League side were well covered on the left of defence: “No, I keep hearing that Crystal Palace are interested in him and that doesn’t surprise me at all, except from the fact that they’ve got a good left-back anyway. Well two, Jonathan Parr and Dean Moxey have both played there and done well.

“I’ve heard nothing at all, only what people keep telling me, that it’s in the papers. It doesn’t surprise me, he’s the best left-back in the league.

“I’m not touting him around, trying to sell him, but I think when people do well they deserve it to be said, and he’s been excellent.”

we need to form players round our key players, cressy, smith, etc and they're both great young professionals, which is great!

I think Mick has been very clever this last week or two. He's praising players a hell of a lot and keeping their confidence high after two early defeats. First, there was Nouble's new deal, then Skuse praise and now Cresswell. Really hope we get back to winning ways tomorrow and get the fans back in Portman Road!
