Squad for Leicester

John McGreal is the only notable absentee from the squad for Boxing Day's game with Leicester at Portman Road. In the squad for the first time since the Bolton match is Ulrich Le Pen who made his comeback in the 4-0 reserves win over Chelsea last Wednesday.

Squad: Sereni, Branagan, Marshall, Makin, Hreidarsson, Wilnis, Clapham, Venus, Bramble, Gaardsøe, Holland, Magilton, George, Wright, Reuser, T Miller, Naylor, Armstrong, M Bent, Peralta, Le Pen and Couñago.

Meanwhile former Town star James Scowcroft is determined to put one over on his old team-mates and, after a quiet start to his Leicester career, says he is in peak condition: "I'm feeling the fittest now in the time I've been at the club. I've still got a lot to do but I'm definitely feeling more confident. I'll certainly go there in better shape than when I played against them earlier this season. I still wasn't fit and didn't do myself justice. This time around I'm feeling good and I'm determined to get three points for my new club. Obviously it'll be a great day for to see some old faces that I've not seen for a while but by 5pm I want City to have got three points."

Like many others Scowcroft says he is at a loss as to why Town have done so badly this season: "I don't really know what's gone on at Ipswich this season, because they finished sixth [Ahem, fifth - PH] last year and were looking good for the future. Last year they were on a roll and the momentum just went from game to game. This season the reverse has happened. They've lost a few games and confidence has gone, players have got injured and when you get in a rut like that it's difficult to get out."

Town will be hoping that the win at Spurs will prove the end of that rut.
