Carson With Hibernian
Tuesday, 27th Aug 2013 16:47

Midfielder Josh Carson has spent the last few days training with SPL side Hibernian, according to reports in Scotland. Last week, manager Mick McCarthy revealed the Edinburgh club’s interest in the 20-year-old Northern Ireland international, who has previously spent time on trial at Bristol City and Notts County.

Speaking on Friday, McCarthy said: “He went to Notts County, he played in an U21 game for them, Hibs are interested in having a look at him, apparently. He is available to go from here.”

Meanwhile, one-time Town loanee Andros Townsend has been named in the full England squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine next month.

Third time lucky then?

Somehow I doubt it.

If you'd told me 3 years ago that Andros Townsend would be in the England squad, I would have laughed in your face.

We should have sighned andros Townsend and Gio dos santos on permanents. They are players that our team needs.

Good luck Josh! I was surprised when Keane terminated Townsend's loan, quick pacey winger, I was shocked when we didnt want to keep him on loan. Pacey and has a great shot on him too.

Really Michael11? I was gutted when Keane let him go. Cracking player.

Josh Carson is heading for the footy wilderness then. Can't see Hibs wanting him either. I reckon he'll end up at some Scottish Third Div club who aren't too picky and probably semi-pro.

Waste of talent. Big-headed, arrogant and wouldn't learn. Let that be a lesson for all kids.

I thought Townsend was pretty average, obviously hes developed and hes played well last year an a bit but cant see him being international quality..

Townsend was quality down here but for reasons only known to the dark lord himself, signed him then didn't play him regularly. Has he had a few consistent seasons in the prem to deserve an England call up though? I think not.

Carson = Terrible wasted talent

Surely he can get a game at Hibs, please!

Carson should be staying. With half the first teams places under question we need people nipping at the heels. Carson has huge potential to come good and with our poor start could, sorry should, get some minutes

The managers of York, Notts County and Bristol City obviously don't think he can nip at anyone's heels there, and neither does Mick. Good enough proof for me.

It's so frustrating seeing the players we let go scoring, Rhodes,Wickham and Jet again. I can see Carson doing the same thing.

Carson is overrated, rather like Jack Ainsley. Saw he got taken off against Leiston as the manager thought he was getting owned by the Leiston attack

agree stevelincsexile couldnt do any worse!!!!! Carson wasnt given a chance and he had a great pre-season who can MM put him out on loan without giving him a match to let him and us see what he can do. We know he can nip at the heels and his fitness is not in question Posters on this web site always seem to pick on mistakes made especially by the youth, keep off Hyam's back and give the lad a chance , its not the youth that brought this Club into the downward spirral. Carson should not be let go he is a true blue and more than worthy of playing for our Club, he should be given a game or two, what harm could it do and we know he is capable of scoring a goal or two.

I wonder what has gone wrong with Carson. There are rumours that he's a bit of a Jack the Lad around the town, a bit big headed and not a good trainer. I thought at one time he had great potential and it would be a shame if he disappears into obscurity. MM obviously doesn't rate or want him but it seems with MM if your face doesn't fit, you're on your way.
Rumour MM is going to raid Bristol City again with a million+ bid for a forward who has scored 4 goals in 5 games.

How can Carson be a true blue. he has never put the effort in to earn such an award. He was lucky enough to have been brought through the academies and given a chance. How does he repay that - by going out in the town the night before games. he had a chance before his trial at Bristol City and guess what, he went out the night before (Vodka Revs etc).

If he wants a career in football, then he needs to knuckle down. he doesn;t want to end up like Chopra and Bullard.

You can tell he's a jack the lad just by watching him at Colchester in the pre-match warm up, spent all his time doing kick ups, flicking it up with the back of his heel and laughing and jumping on players backs.

Say no more.

Hibs is the back of beyond, even in Scottish football. I'm afraid Carson may have found his level. As he is a former blue (of sorts), I still wish him good luck, however.
