Fenlon Impressed With Carson
Thursday, 29th Aug 2013 21:24

Hibs manager Pat Fenlon has been impressed with on-trial Blues midfielder Josh Carson during his week at Easter Road. The 20-year-old Northern Ireland international is free to leave Portman Road and has previously spent time on trial at Bristol City and Notts County.

Fenlon told the BBC: “We have had a couple of players in this week that we have been happy with and who have done quite well.

"Josh is an Ipswich player and I'd need to speak to Mick McCarthy and see where that is but there are one or two other options as well."

The Dubliner says he’s been a fan of Carson for a while: "I've seen a fair bit of him playing and he's a good player. He would be a good addition to our squad.

"We have said all along that we would like to bring in another wide player if we can and I think we are close enough to doing that. Hopefully, we can get that one over the line and then see what happens elsewhere.”

It's a shame this. I thought itfc had learnt their lesson from the past of letting young talented players go.

Reading between the lines that will be we would love to have Josh at Hibernian but it really is in Ipswich's court to pay up his existing contract so Hibs can offer him a much lower wage.

Being only 20, I think after the impact he made when he came into the first team, we should keep him, work hard with him and hope that his performances improve because he looked like an exciting young player with massive potential before. I expect Mick knows what Josh has done though and clearly thinks he can't turn the corner.

That's where he belongs in the Scottish league. Anyone stads out with the level of quality north of the border. Mind you ours isn't much better at the moment!

They like fat lumps up there. Anyone on here who seriously thinks this little fat waste of space is worth keeping, wants their head examined.

shame that he hasn't really lived up to the potential that he showed when he first hit on the scene...would love to see him do well at Town but if the offers right i think we should let him go

I wish him all the nest if he does go

To be fair, my gran could look good playing in Scotland. I wish Josh the best of luck in Scotland, but I think that's the only level of football he's good for.

People in Scotland get _______off with some attitudes down south about our SPL. The truth is that the SPL is a microcosm of the English Leagues. There are two Glasgow teams well capable of handling the Premiership. Hibs, Hearts and Aberdeen have the support to do well in the Championship and the rest are the equiv of your Div 1 and 2. Believe me we have had some rubbish come up from such as your top leagues. They do not find it as comfortable as they thought. However do not fancy Carson if he another overweight player from England.

A bit much saying that Hibs are impressed with Carson Hibs have had serious injuries to our two wide men whom I would imagine are far superior to Carson but we do need a couple of wingers and that is where desperation creeps ion ???????????

Bristol aren't interested but Hibs of the Scottish Premier are!! Says it all, personally feel a bit sad that it hasn't worked out here, there was a time a couple of season back we all had visions of him being a good player.

Hibs have signed two guys Zubir and Heffernam who will do the job until our injured guys come back on stream.. Did not like the vibes coming from Ipswich fans on Carson anyway. You can keep him and as far as the sarcastic comments on the Scottish League they obviously come from ill informed sources . Many of your teams are pretty grim and well financed by Sky because such as Wigan etc Blackburn etc would not hold a candle against Rangers and Celtic if Sky gave even 5 percent to Scottish football who contribute 10 percent of their UK revenue

One final point to my Suffolk readers , yes we Scots know the difference between North and South, Ipswich will win nothing as long as you allow Sky to pour money into a few hands... Maybe Norwich will dominate for the next twenty years against you despite finishing in the lower areas of the Premiership. That is all wrong.

If we are a United Kingdom then a British League is called for
