Loach and Town Back Hospital Christmas Auction
Monday, 9th Dec 2013 18:50

Fancy a goalkeeping masterclass with Town keeper Scott Loach or the chance to watch the Blues in style from an executive box or as a guest of Simon Milton in the directors’ box?

These are among the fantastic Ipswich Town-related prizes going under the hammer in a special Christmas online auction to raise money for West Suffolk Hospital’s Neonatal Unit.

The auction, which runs until 10pm on Sunday, has been backed by Town keeper Loach, who has agreed to undertake a goalkeeping masterclass with a youth keeper, either at a club or school (U18s or younger) anywhere in Suffolk.

Elsewhere in the auction, you can watch Town in either an executive box for six people or alongside Milton in the directors’ box, having enjoyed a tour of Portman Road.

Bury St Edmunds boy, Ed Upson, has also given his support to the fundraiser with a signed photo of him celebrating his matchwinning role in Town’s FA Youth Cup success, as well as a signed shirt from his current club Yeovil.

You can also enjoy a media experience at the club, sitting in on Mick McCarthy’s pre-match press conference and then watching the subsequent game in the press box.

Auction items, both sporting and lifestyle, have been donated from a host of well-known businesses and individuals across Suffolk and beyond.

Dave Gooderham, fundraising manager for West Suffolk Hospital Charity, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the support we’ve received for the auction, and would like to thank everyone who has generously donated these fantastic prizes.

“Our neonatal unit holds a special place in many people’s hearts. We hope as many people as possible will show their support for its incredible work by bidding for one of these unique lots and helping us raise important charity funds this Christmas.”

Members of the Town squad will be at West Suffolk Hospital on Thursday with the players making their annual Christmas visits to hospitals around the county throughout the week.

Is Scott Loach going to watch the goalkeeping masterclass too? Only joking!! Think it's great that the players get involved in such charity events. Fair play to them!
