Tabb and Anderson Start at Leeds
Tuesday, 28th Jan 2014 18:53

Jay Tabb and Paul Anderson replace Stephen Hunt and Carlos Edwards in the Town side facing Leeds at Elland Road this evening.

Hunt drops to the bench, probably due to fatigue after lasting just over an hour of Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Reading, only his second league start of the campaign, while Edwards is out of the 18 having been subbed at half-time against the Royals with a groin problem. New loan signing Frazer Richardson is amongst the subs.

Leeds striker Luke Varney is missing from the home side's squad with Blackburn having been linked. El Hadji Diouf replaces him.

Leeds: Kenny, Byram, Pearce, Lees, Warnock, Kebe, Brown, Austin, Stewart, McCormack, Diouf. Subs: Cairns, Murphy, Pugh, Peltier, Wootton, Poleon, Mowatt.

Town: Gerken, Chambers, Berra, Smith, Cresswell, Anderson, Skuse, Tunnicliffe, Tabb, Murphy, McGoldrick. Subs: Loach, Mings, Richardson, Hunt, Wordsworth, Taylor, Nouble.

Fair enough, lets hope we get the Jay Tabb that turned up against Reading twice this season.

backwards step again in my opinion. Tabb is out of form and whilst he works hard, he doesn't attack the full back. I'd put taylor at left mid ahead of tabb. Mick being too cautious again. Spose we're away though, still hoping for 3 points though. COYB

Tabb tucks in allowing Cressy to bomb forward... our formation is more like 352 with him as he is no way a winger... guessing we'll stifle leeds in the first half and be more expansive in the second half by bringing Hunt on?

If Hunt cannot last 90 minutes makes sense to bring him on as a sub away from home.

Hope Tabb can do the business tonight. I like him as a player but he hasn't had the best of form this season.

Probably makes sense. Bit disappointed to be honest. But Hunty to come on & maybe score like Anderson did saturday.

Another point of interest, no edwards on the bench, so our only natural right sided player to bring on is Taylor.... might walk the dog for the first half and am really look forward to the 2nd lol

Disappointed Hunt not starting, I really haven't seen anything from Tabb and would prefer to start Hunt and take him off if he tires. Will happily be proved wrong though.

Going for the must not conceed stance. Hope we don't trg yo sit bsck and defend deep for 90mins+ cos it won't work.

I'm bemused why McCarthy plays Tabb. He has been very poor lately in my opinion.

If hunt isn't fit enough to start fair enough, but Tabb has been poor. Although I hope he does well tonight, we surely need a better alternative.

Wouldn't want Tabb chasing the game late on!
