Taylor in U21 Squad
Monday, 24th Feb 2014 12:18

Strikers Paul Taylor and Alan Lee, keeper Scott Loach and midfielder Anthony Wordsworth are the overage players included in the squad for tonight’s U21 match against Crystal Palace at Portman Road (KO 7pm).

Speaking at the end of last week, manager Mick McCarthy said he would probably field Sylvan Ebanks-Blake against the Eagles, but may have decided to omit the 27-year-old, recently back in action after a hamstring problem following a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a broken leg and ankle ligament damage, as he played the last 25 minutes at Leicester on Saturday.

Entry to the Cobbold Stand is £3 for adults and £1 for all other age groups, while season ticket holders can get in for free.

Taylor can be in the England U21 squad but little chance of starting in an ITFC shirt for the 1st team. Hopefully he can win over Mick but have my doubts

Theres only one way Taylor will make it at town and thats by knuckling down, training hard and performing in games when he gets the chance (i.e. U-21, sub appearances etc).
When he earns his chance in the senior team then he needs to show his qualities and prove he has more ability and desire than the others.

At the moment Nouble has earned his time in first team, maybe the quality isnt there right now but he earned the opportunity. If Taylor can give more effort than Nouble/others and prove his quality, MM will have no problem keeping him in the team.

Think that Taylor and Lee could be a
very useful option

Whatever happens MM will still stick with his favourites ????He more or less said it on the back page of the Ipswich Star, as he jumped to the defence of Gerken, Tabb and Nouble !!!!

if we come out of this game without a win, our U21 coaching staff should walk..

Taylor will never play for Ipswich until he learns to realise what a wonderful life he could have Knuckle down work hard and live the life of a responsible professional footballer .Not a Chopra deciple come on Taylor we can all see you can play but why do you not want to be our hero instead of a zero Give it ago stick it to mick and show him how good you can be.

The only way Taylor will get a run in Micks team is if he changes position to a defensive midfielder and promises only to pass backwards or sideways .

The only way Taylor will get a run in the team is if McCarthy goes.

Just like everyone else on here i dont know if Tay's trains well or not. However there does seem to be a problem between him and Mick as when Paul does get on the pitch he usually does ok. He did more on Sat,in 10 minutes, then some of our players did in the whole game!!

brian_a_mul Nouble has earned his time in the first team? How exactly? Playing awful every time he pulls the shirt on and having feet that dont work in sync with his brain?
I could go to training and work my nuts off all week but would you settle for me being completely out of my depth on a saturday just cus id put the work in in the week? Earned his place my backside, hes woeful and only plays cus hes Micks pet, end of

Putting a player in the first team that doesn't seem to now or have the ability to be there is becoming an Ipswich trait, it happened with Keane and Jewell in charge now MM seems to have taken this on. Lets get some more players in and play them out of position, that will really fool the opposition., or better still get them in and don't use them at all. Surprised Loachy hasn't been put in a strikers role yet.
