Williams: I Loved Every Minute
Friday, 9th May 2014 14:02

Loanee Jonny Williams says he loved every minute of his time with the Blues. The Crystal Palace man joined Town at the end of February and went on to make 11 starts and two sub appearances, scoring once.

“I loved every minute of my time at Ipswich,” the 20-year-old Wales international told the club site.

“It was good to finish the season on a high against Sheffield Wednesday but it was a real shame we didn’t make the play-offs.

“I can’t thank the manager, Mick McCarthy, enough for giving me an opportunity and I’d like to thank everyone else at the club for making me feel so welcome.

“It felt like I’d been at the club ages and it was a great experience. The supporters were fantastic to me and Ipswich has a special place in my heart.”

McCarthy has said he’d love Williams to return for a further loan next season but doesn’t know whether that will be a possibility.

The player is similarly in the dark about his 2014/15: “I’m going back to Palace now and looking forward to that. My main priority is to get in the team there but who knows what will happen in the future. I don’t really know where I will be playing my football next season.”

Fair play son.

His skill on the wing at Brighton to deliver the cross for the second goal was up there as best moment of the season.

Quality footballer and a really good guy. My son was thrilled at meeting him on Saturday at Sheff W match and Johnnie spent so much time chatting, making him feel welcome and special and giving some class advice . Thanks Johnnie

the class of the man both of and on the pitch is immense..saw him at the services on m25 on way back from brighton where he stopped for a chat, also at watford when he was getting of the team coach & lastly after the sheff wed game when he signed & posed for selfies with everyone waiting..His skill for murphs goal at brighton was something else(if it was one or two nameless players from barca or real would be shown back to back 24 hours a day)..micheal chopra, j.et or lee martin spend a while in this mans company to find out what being a footballer is all about..Johnny williams we salute you !!!

A fantastic player, who has kept us on the edge of our seats, what a goal against Derby, will live in the memory. An absolute delight to meet Jonnie as he got off the coach at Watford, had a picture with my son & a chat, can only hope we have the chance to see him in a Town shirt again, if not, wish him all the best in his career :)

Come back Johnny. You really added something to the team, who in turn upped their game. Mick gave you a chance and you fitted in really well.

Well done Jonny, your flair and skill on the ball were a joy to watch and certainly cheered up the supporters that I know watched you.
It would be great to see you back if possible, if not next season then the one after when we are back in the Premier league!

From what I have read, you conduct yourself in an excellent manner which is refreshing and without mentioning names there are certainly several other professional footballers who could and should take a leaf out of your book.

Very best wishes Jonny for the future wherever you play (not in a Budgie coloured shirt though please!)

Sign him up on a season long loan at least.
He's what we need in midfield or his attacking role behind the striker.
Be great player for us if we get him!

Class all round. A player interested in actually playing as opposed to luving the life like Taylor. Proof that its down to attitude with Big Mick. Come vack Joniesta, the Town loves you

Absolutely as everyone else has written a great player and a decent man off the pitch. Would love to see you here at PR next season for at the very least a season long loan.
