Patterson On As Sub As New Zealand Draw With Brazil Friday, 6th Jun 2014 12:01 Academy midfielder Monty Patterson came on as an 80th minute substitute as New Zealand’s U20s recorded an impressive 0-0 draw with Brazil in their second game at the Panda Cup in China this morning. The Brazilians, who ended today’s game with 10 men after a stoppage time red card, had previously won all six meetings between the countries’ national sides at all levels. The Junior All Whites complete their Panda Cup games with a match against Croatia on Sunday, having previously lost 1-0 to the hosts on Wednesday when 17-year-old Patterson, who starts a two-year scholarship with the Blues this summer, was a 66th minute sub. Meanwhile, former Blues loanee Richard Stearman is reportedly on the verge of signing a new contract with Wolves. The 26-year-old defender’s current terms at Molineux are up at the end of June.
