Sammon Makes Full Debut

Town boss Mick McCarthy hands new loan signing Conor Sammon his full debut and Paul Anderson his first start of the season as the Blues face Birmingham at St Andrew’s.

Striker David McGoldrick and Elliott Hewitt, who played wide on the right at Reading, drop to the bench with the XI otherwise unchanged. Alex Henshall replaces Anthony Wordsworth on the bench.

Elsewhere, former West Ham man Jack Collison, who is currently training with the Blues, Stephen Hunt, Matthew Clarke and Teddy Bishop are in the U21s squad facing Lowestoft this evening.

Town: Gerken, Chambers (c), Berra, Smith, Mings, Skuse, Hyam, Tabb, Anderson, Murphy, Sammon. Subs: Bialkowski, Parr, Hewitt, Bru, Henshall, Bajner, McGoldrick.

Birmingham: Randolph, Grounds, Edgar, Donaldson, Thomas, Cotterill, Novak, Hall, Spector, Davis, Caddis (c). Subs: Doyle, Robinson, Duffy, Gleeson, Johnstone, Brown, Gray. Referee: Roger East.

Almost half time...and the Championship team with the worse home record over last twelve months under no pressure at all... If McGoldrick is fit to be substitute then why is he not playing??
No goal threat .. Hold on , a corner...our first....but it's a Birmingham counter attack...Oh my!
