Collison and Ambrose in U21s Action Monday, 25th Aug 2014 12:12 Free agents Jack Collison and Darren Ambrose are set to feature for Town’s U21s in their opening Professional Development League 2 South Division game against Swansea City at Playford Road this afternoon (KO 1pm). The pair have been training with the Blues squad with Collison, who was released by West Ham in May, previously playing in last week’s U21s friendly at Lowestoft. “The plan is to play Jack and Darren in the U21s against Swansea,” manager Mick McCarthy told the club site. “I told them both when the came in, it was with no commitment from them or from me. “They are both very talented players. For different reasons they are here. Jack has had some injuries. Darren was at Birmingham and then went to Greece [on loan at Apollon Smyrni]. “They have come in just to train. We are helping them out. They are helping us out as well. They are good players and have enhanced training. They are just getting fit though and we will see where it goes.” The likes of Matt Clarke and Darren McQueen are also expected to be involved against the Swans, although Teddy Bishop may miss out having been ill over the weekend.
