Town Introduce Ticket Bundle Scheme
Tuesday, 26th Aug 2014 16:37

Town have launched a new Group Save Bundle ticketing initiative, allowing fans to buy the same seat for four home games at a 15 per cent discount. The first games covered by the scheme will be the Millwall match after the international break and the subsequent Brighton, Rotherham and Blackburn fixtures.

The Blues' director of retail, Lee Hyde, told the club site: “Fans will be able to purchase the same seat for all four games, guaranteeing their place in the stands and saving themselves a nice little discount too.

“It’s something we’ve been looking into for a few months and follows on from the discount offers that we brought in heavily towards the end of last season. This one is great though as all fans can take advantage of the offer.”

To find out more details or to purchase a Group Save Bundle ticket visit Planet Blue or contact Town’s ticketing enquiries team on 03330 050 503. Fans who have already bought Millwall or Brighton tickets can refund them if purchasing a Group Save Bundle.

Typical... the same doofus brigade come on saying fans that find it financially difficult to go to games should be pleased with this offer.

Well, it is a step in the right direction, but when you add in travel, food, programme etc... for one person it adds up to around £100 on a budget. Add in your kids as well, could be double that. I'd LOVE to go to every game, and I know people who are in the same position but just can't afford it- and these are people that would go to every game, not the 'only go when we are winning people.

I had a season ticket during the John Duncan era when current attendances were dreamed of, so I earned my stripes over dull football, but there is a financial point when you either can't go, or can't justify going... too many people are in those camps & it would probably need at least a 25% off deal to enable those people to get back.

We are now suffering from the lack of forethought of 15 years ago when young supporters were not encouraged to go.... and are now compounding this by not helping parents with young children to afford to go now as well. If we aren't careful, we will be down to 10,000 attendances as a norm in 10 years.

I have had the same season ticket seat for over 20 yrs...and over the last few years I have felt more and more bored with the whole thing. I can remember some fantastic games and atmosphere at PR...but Saturday was turgid and the Norwich Ffans chant was correct when they sang..'Is this a Library'...unless we get something more improved and exciting then crowds will continue to dwindle...even with cheaper tickets

Fat Boy Tim .......... when something decent is served up in terms of entertainment - I'll be the first to acknowledge it - meanwhile keep at the Pies, and join the queue early ! - otherwise you may not get served until midway thro' the second half - with staff cuts and only one serving.

Fat Boy Tim ......... Question for you :- When we can't anywhere near fill Portman Road for a local derby - How can any of you (of sane mind) advocate / suggest losing even one single supporter ?????

Or wouldn't such things have crossed your mind ?????

If I do decide not to go next season - don't think you're getting my Pie - because you're NOT.

" just goes to prove the point that I will always give an honest opinion, without the need to be abusive - please take note !! " Who said this yesterday evening? Oh yes it was Blueboy!!!

....... that's not being abusive it's called 'having a sense of humour' - as well as being honest.

Maybe a few of you should try it - there's enough to be disheartened with when sat in the stand.

We should get sponsored by 'Tesco's'
With the slogan
Every little helps...
But it's too late as the damage has been done and fans are no longer buying into it or any price scheme, as it's been set far too high for this level of football.

While there is no money in Championship and teams are struggling the Premier League is spending record amounts. Good old FFP. Football is now getting rotten to the core and needs sorting out. Why the hell can't the gross amounts be shared out fairly amongst the football league.

@cats_whiskers - agreed, these ticket promotions are merely piecemeal. What's needed is a reduction in match-day ticket prices across the board for every game. I don't care if the club needs to maximise revenue via high match-day prices: disenfranchising supporters is a dangerous gamble that looks to have already had an affect. Once fans get out of the habit of attending games on a regular basis it can be hard to win them back.

Talk about "loyalty" and "part-time supporters" all you want. For many fans having a season ticket (and the value it offers) isn't possible for a variety of reasons (distance, work commitments etc...) and the club cannot fill the stadium on season tickets alone. Match-day supporters are important and don't deserve to be ripped-off. Fail to act on this and sub-15,000 attendances at Portman Road will quickly become a regular reality.

@IvorFeeling

You hit the nail on the head. I particularly worry that our next generation of fans will have zero interest in ITFC when they become old enough to buy tickets, simply because it's expensive for people to take them now but also because we play such boring Football that they won't be bothered about going again anyway.

I had a season ticket from 2007 until 2013. The football under Magilton was great but results were not always good enough. Then we has Keane and Jewell where the football wasn't the greatest, but the results were woeful. However I never felt like not renewing my season ticket until we had McCarthy in charge. Even though he did a Great job turning that season around I just could not
Bring myself to renew. I decided to become a Casual fan for one season just to see how things turned out. But then as ticket prices for grade a games were double the price I paid per game with my season ticket and the boring football I gonna myself at Portman road twice all season and actually went to more away games. I went to the derby game Saturday and it will be a long time before I will return. The football has not improved under McCarthy in the 3 seasons, and the results this season have fallen short of what we were hoping for and no sign of Any new signings it's going to be a poor season. I can see even season ticket holders not turning up, at least they can then save the add on costs of a football day out even if they can't get their money back on the season ticket costs.

These half arsed attempts at offering fans what they make out to be a good deal does nothing but put many fans off as we can all see right through it. The ticket prices are simply to high for most people to afford on a regular basis. Also as for the heading of matches ie A B C D is another rip off. All matches should be priced at the lowest grade except from possibly the easy Anglian derby and if we were to make the play offs or get a big cup draw. All fans seem to be singing from the same hymn sheet on this subject and the club needs to realise this ASAP. Lower ticket prices = higher attendances and better atmosphere. Also whilst I am on the subject of better atmosphere why the club do not house the away fans near the sit bobby stand I have no idea. Would create a much better atmosphere. I know the police were against this but I am sure the club could do a bit more in trying to re-locate the away fans.

Who in there right mind would commit £100 to watch the Millwall, Brighton, Rotherham and Blackburn games to save £10? With the way we are playing only a sadist would sign up for this deal.

Good deal for part time fans but you still moan, pathetic bunch not proper fans of the club
-6

blueboy1981 added 11:25 - Aug 27
blue moon09 .......... 'proper fans' as you describe, are people who want the best for their Club in every respect - and that includes SUCCESS - they are not people who are satisfied with every drop of dross that is served up, during which the Club's good name and respect diminishes.

You make it so obvious that you well and truly fit the latter description - not the former.

Good deal would be £15 (KIDS FREE) for Rochdale as a one off. Fans might see us win and start taking an interest. Or you can have 16K and an atmosphere like reserve game.

How long has Clegg been gone and the "Joint MDs" been in place? How long have they told us they know what they are doing - how long have the fans, independant supporters trust, TWTD etc told them they dont (look at the results of the polls). How can we not sell out a local derby game? Make match day tickets affordable, make them easy to buy. Dont charge a surcharge at the turnstile for tickets bought on the day - how many times do these things need repeating???

The simple fact is that it appears the club knows that the football is going to be dire and that is why they are doing their level best to coral fans into buying a season ticket, instead paying on a casual basis Now that is fine when there is radson for there to be a hiugh demand - at the moment there isn't.

Merely adding surcharges and putting up the prices for supposed grad A games will not push people towards a season ticket, it will simply turn them away. And far from raising revenue will actually cut revenue by decreasing gates. The lower the gates, the worse the atmosphere .... and it becomes a vicious circle. Something that was tested and proven at the derby game.

Fans recognise that we at the tipping point. Going to games now is like duty, not a pleasure. The buzz has gone and when you look round the ground a bit closer you see how shabby it is becoming, how the bars and fod areas are not up to scratch for serving and there seems to be an awful air of us and them. The supporters v the club.

It is not our club any more, and it the owners and the MD thinks that it can continue this way then they are badly mistaken. They have slowly destroyed the soul of the club. The Cat 1 failed, the Cresswell money has disappeared as has the training ground.

We need to start again somehow and the easily fooled need to wake up.
