Sonck Watched Again? Thursday, 31st Jan 2002 17:11 Town are again reported to have watched Belgian international striker Wesley Sonck. The Genk striker was mentioned in connection with Town just before Christmas as scouts flocked to watch the Belgian Player of the Year. Hertha Berlin appear to be at the head of the queue to sign Sonck, who has scored 21 goals this season, although the likes of Manchester United, Sunderland, Derby County, Ipswich Town and West Ham have all watched him. At present any serious interest from Town looks unlikely given the recent signing of Marcus Bent. Sonck though could well have been one of George Burley's targets when looking for a striker towards the end of last year.
