Stephen Hunt, Cameron Stewart and Darren Ambrose all start for Town’s U21s in this afternoon’s game at Charlton (KO 2pm). Ambrose is a former Addicks player, while Stewart spent time on loan at the Valley last season.

Hunt and Stewart need game time after recovering from calf and jaw injuries respectively, while new signing Ambrose is also short on match fitness.

Charlton U21s: Phillips (c), Osborne, Edwards, Thomas, Obileye, Cumberbatch, Muldoon, Daniel, Gerrard, Ansah, Kennedy. Subs: Mitov, Pyke, Browne, Charles-Cook, Hanlan.

Town U21s: Crowe, Robinson, Wyatt, Benyu, Sowunmi, Clarke (c), Stewart, Ambrose, McQueen, Patterson, Hunt. Subs: Marsden, Emmanuel, Willbye, McLoughlin, Galvin.

Monkey_Blue added 14:20 - Sep 15 No need to rush to get Ambrose in the first team until he's fit. He's in effect got 3 and 1/2 months to show enough to get himself a longer deal... Imagine if he gets injured because he's not match fit and ends up hardly playing in that time. Not in his or the clubs interests. Plenty of time for him to make an impact.
