Ebanks-Blake at Brentford
Monday, 13th Oct 2014 17:46

Ex-Blues striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is training with Championship new boys Brentford. The 28-year-old was released by Town at the end of last season having joined midway through the 2013/14 campaign, after leaving Wolves the previous summer.

Ebanks-Blake, who was previously linked with Oldham, netted for the Bees’ U21s in a 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield at the weekend.

The former England U21 international made two starts and eight sub appearances for the Blues without scoring a goal.

To be given the honourable title of 'Ex-blues striker', he needs to have 'struck' at least once for us which I don't think he did. Let's sort the weak from the chaff.

Good luck to him. He was clearly out of sorts last season but it's not impossible he'll have a reprise before his career ends.

Amazing to think he's still only 28. Real shame what's happened the last few years because he was class.

Ex-Blues striker??? Really? Could form part of an Ipswich Who X1 to include Ellington, Lisbie, le Pen, Thatcher, Real-Choker et al.

WJJ - Unfair to put Lisbie in that category I think. Perfectly good striker, we never played to his strengths.
