Bart: Nothing's Changed

Bartosz Bialkowski has confirmed that Town’s recent record of just four points from a possible 12 has done nothing to dent dressing room morale.

The Polish goalkeeper, signed from Notts County last summer, kept his seventh clean sheet in 14 league games in the goalless draw with Wigan at Portman Road last week.

But Bialkowski believes the fact that Town have failed to win three of their last four Championship fixtures is of no major concern and that they can return to winning ways at Rotherham this weekend.

It will be Town’s first-ever visit to the 12,000-capacity New York Stadium, opened in July 2012, but Bialkowski played there less than a year ago and was on the wrong end of a 6-0 thrashing by the Millers as they blazed a trail to promotion from League One.

He said: “We may have had a couple of bad results but nothing’s changed to be honest. No one thought before the season started that we would be where we are in the league and at this time of the season, after a very busy period, it’s a great position to be in.

"We all realise what a chance we’ve got and we just need to grab it and take it.

“We have lost two league games recently but we are only three points off the top spot, so there is nothing to worry about.

"It is a great position to be in and all the lads are so hungry for success. As a group we want to achieve something.

“It’s a long season and at some point teams are going to drop points. It has been us in the past few weeks but before that we were on a fantastic run.

“Things can change very quickly and the aim is to win our next game and then go on another long run of winning games. We just need to concentrate and keep focusing on our jobs.”

With just 10 points separating the top eight clubs the fight for automatic promotion and the play-offs places is still a long way from being resolved and Bialkowski believes it might even stay that way until the final round of fixtures on May 2nd.

He added: “No one running away with it and it is such a competitive league that it is difficult to know what is going to happen. It doesn’t matter which teams are playing, there are no certainties and every team has a chance of winning.

“It doesn’t matter if you are in top spot and you are going to the team at the bottom, you still need to do your job and treat every game like a cup final if you are going to win and pick up all three points.”
