Guldbrandsen Hits Late Equaliser for U21s at QPR
Monday, 2nd Mar 2015 15:10

Midfielder Victor Guldbrandsen curled home from 25 yards deep into injury time as Town’s U21s drew 1-1 with QPR in a rearranged fixture at their Harlington training ground this afternoon.

The home side had gone in front via Reece Grego-Cox's 54th-minute penalty before the Dane, an 18-year-old second-year scholar, hit back four minutes into time added on.

Keeper Dean Gerken was the only senior player in action, while West Brom defender Reiss Greenidge again started for the Blues, as he did in last week’s 1-0 defeat at Brentford.

The 18-year-old is a 6ft 5in tall centre-half or left-back who recently spent four months on loan at Port Vale with a view to making a permanent switch but was unable to break into their first team.

The game had originally been set for February 3rd but was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Town's U18s are in action away against Crystal Palace at their Beckenham training ground on Tuesday afternoon in a game which was postponed on Saturday, due to a waterlogged pitch (KO 12pm).

U21s: Gerken, Emmanuel, Wyatt, Guldbrandsen, Robinson, Greenidge, Hammond, Blanchfield, McQueen, McLoughlin, Patterson. Subs: McDermid, Ford, Fowler, C Smith, Ramadan.

A midfielder scoring for Town is that allowed? Does MM know he did this?

What has happened to Cameron Stewart

Can't get into senior squad ahead of a (potential) debutant 17 year old and does not play in reserve games either.

Taylor-itis perhaps ?

Because he was covering smiths backside most of game he had to play so deep! Also early booking (unfair) meant he had to be careful for most of game.

C'mon we must replace Skuse with a far more energetic holding midfielder who really bites into the tackle. Skuse ambled about as if he was taking a walk in the park and hardly ever got stuck into tackles etc while Tabb, Bru and the others fought hard for the cause. Play Hyam in that role when hes fit again, he will really break up opponents attacks. Bristol City went down with Scuse in midfield and are coming back up without him. Says it all imo.

rfetwell - Skuse plays an absolutely pivotal role in front of the back four. Watch him a bit more closely and you might learn something.
