McCarthy: Monty Will Get Best Treatment
Saturday, 15th Aug 2015 06:00

Town boss Mick McCarthy says injured U21s midfielder Monty Patterson will get the very best treatment and will soon be back in action.

The 18-year-old New Zealand U23 international is due to undergo surgery on Monday having been stretchered off after dislocating his ankle when falling awkwardly during Monday’s 2-1 U21s win at Leeds. The Auckland-born youngster is expected to be out of action for up to six months.

“It was devastating for him,” McCarthy said. “Instantly, if you have an injury like that you start worrying about your job, your career, what’s going to happen.

“But he’ll get the very, very best treatment and he’ll be fine. He’ll be OK. He’ll heal quickly and I’m sure he’ll be back as soon as possible.”

I've never really liked Leeds, but they have changed my mind in the help they gave Monty. Top class Leeds Utd. Dirty Leeds no more.
