McCarthy: Crawley Delighted With Yorwerth Saturday, 31st Oct 2015 06:00 Blues boss Mick McCarthy says he’s been getting very good reports from Crawley Town regarding on-loan defender Josh Yorwerth, who extended his spell with the League Two club until December 29th earlier in the week. “Very good reports,” he said. “And if you check their results I think you’ll find they’ve improved since he’s gone there [they’re up to 17th]. “I don’t doubt it’s not all down to him but if a centre-half goes in and I think they were just outside the bottom two and they’re nine points above it now [he must have played a part]. They’ve had a really good run. “They’re delighted with him. He’s there for 93 days but we have a recall on him. It’s great that he’s playing games.” Wales U21 international Yorwerth, 20, who joined Town having been released by today’s opponents Cardiff following a trial at the end of last season, has made five appearances for the Red Devils, who face York City at home this lunchtime. McCarthy says he’s not yet had any loan requests regarding any of his other fringe players including right-back Josh Emmanuel, 18, who he says he would also profit from a spell in the lower leagues. “No I haven’t had any calls about any of them,” he added. “I’m looking for them to gain experience but I would play Josh Emmanuel here, he’s part of the squad. “Jonny Parr was injured for a while so that kind of meant he had to stay here and be cover. "But with Jonny Parr fit now that gives us a chance and if somebody wants to take him I would probably let him go out because he would benefit from it.”
