Hyam, Emmanuel and Alabi Make Debuts for Loan Clubs
Saturday, 28th Nov 2015 21:03

Midfielder Luke Hyam made his debut for loan side Rotherham as an 82nd minute sub as the Millers beat Bristol City 3-0 at the New York Stadium.

Hyam, 24, who joined the South Yorkshiremen on loan until January on Wednesday, was making his first senior appearance since Town's FA Cup replay against Southampton at Portman Road in January.

Elsewhere, Josh Emmanuel made his first appearance for Crawley alongside Josh Yorwerth as the Red Devils lost 3-1 at Carlisle in League Two. The 18-year-old right-back was replaced after 62 minutes.

James Alabi made his debut for Grimsby as a 76th minute sub as the Mariners beat Kidderminster 1-0 at Blundell Park in the Vanarama National League.

Meanwhile, Cameron Stewart came on in the 85th minute as his loan club Doncaster drew 2-2 with Tony Mowbray’s League One leaders Coventry City at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Matt Clarke was an unused sub as Portsmouth drew 2-2 at Wycombe, while Michael Crowe also remained on the bench throughout as Stevenage beat Morecambe 4-3, both in League Two.

Young striker Cemal Ramadan netted his second goal in three games - this time a rebound after his penalty had been saved - for his loan side Bury Town as they beat Thurrock 4-2 in the FA Trophy.

So Hyam sub Emmanuel subbed alabi sub Clarke sub Crowe sub !!! Thought the idea of sending these guys on loan was for them to get games. Doesn't seem like the plan is working. They may aswell play 90 mins for our reserves instead of bench warming in lower leagues ????

Great to see so many out on loan. If they step up there match time should improve prebbs007. It's been a few years since the younger ones were going out on loan until mick took over that is. So only agood thing I say. Shows improvements in the academy.

This shows how poor our 'squad' players are that they can't hold down a place in, mainly, lower league sides (or even non-league). Get rid now.

Or it shows that players who join a side on loan don't immediately walk into the team.. Particularly when they've been with them two days.

Daleyitfc thanks for the down vote. Also Hyam is the only squad member and he is on loan after being out for a long time. So no surprise he didn't get long. The rest will shine or crash but this is better than under 21s. Going back over the years (40+) I have seen youth do well by going out on loan. Yes most don't but it the odd one or two that will.

Can we loan out board members who need to gain experience of sensible posting?

Why are people moaning about Hyam starting on the bench. The lad hasn't played in 10 months. He's hardly going to come into the starting 11 straight away. He should be starting by christmas I expect
